Part of my mission as an artist is to bring happiness and healing through art. One of the ways that I have found I can achieve this is through working with my favorite organization, the Ukulele Kids Club, Inc. They are a nonprofit organization helping hospitalized children through music therapy and ukulele donations. Their mission is to harness the power of music to improve the well-being of children and families around the world.
The UKC was founded in 2013 by Corey and Edda Bergman, as a tribute to Corey’s son Jared, who passed away from a viral infection at the age of 20.
In 2019 I became the Artist in Residence for Ukulele Kids Club, Inc. I work with them, custom painting ukuleles with original themes that are chosen by the recipients of these ukuleles, to promote healing, happiness and therapy through the arts.
